The actress, who played Victoria on How I Met Your Mother, and husband Neal Dodson are expecting their first child this fall, she confirms to PEOPLE exclusively.
“After years of waiting for the perfect moment to have a child, we decided to go with this moment instead. And we couldn’t be more thrilled,” a witty Williams, who is due in October, tells PEOPLE.
The mom-to-be, who appeared in Something Borrowed, will star opposite Jim Gaffigan in a Sony pilot which was just picked up for TV Land and Comedy Central. In addition to recently shooting the upcoming movies Bad Hurt and A Most Violent Year, Williams also moonlights as a certified doula, having assisted in over 50 births to date.
And although it will be her first baby, Williams, 35, has had plenty of practice with her nephews: her sister is actress Kimberly Williams-Paisley, who along with husband Brad Paisley are parents to sons Jasper, 5, and Huck, 7½.
